Understanding Workers' Compensation Networks
The new network option should result in lower costs and better care—and new responsibilities.
House Bill 7 enacted a new approach to workers’ compensation with the establishment of health care provider networks. The big hope for this reform is that networks will offer improved care to injured employees while at the same time containing costs. Health care providers are selected for inclusion in networks based on a track record of responsible direction of medical care. Any physician who is part of a network agrees to treatment guidelines that should mean an end to the time of lumbar sprains receiving six months of therapy. [ more ]
