Minor ergonomic adjustments can make a major difference when it comes to workers’ comp claims.
Occasionally, when conducting a loss control survey with a client, the question of ergonomics comes up. Someone is experiencing soreness or stiffness by the end of the day. I generally analyze their workstation or watch them work to see if I can determine the problem. In most cases their body position is to blame. I make some suggestions for repositioning or we rearrange their workstation, and I ask them to let me know if they continue to have the same symptoms over the next few days. Most of the time this resolves the issue. This is a practical example of ergonomics. [ more ]
