NCCI Announces Best Workers' Comp Results Since 1997
Workers’ comp was the only major line with an improved combined ratio in 2005.
At the recent Annual Issues Symposium, NCCI reported that the calendar year combined ratio for workers’ compensation was 102% for 2005, down from 107% for 2004. This is the best result for calendar year combined ratio actuaries have seen since 1997. On an accident year basis, the combined ratios were even better at approximately 90%. NCCI Chief Actuary, Dennis Mealy, described 2005 as a "year of significant accomplishments." [ more ]
